Kent Plantation House

Located just over a mile from our property you’ll find Kent Plantation House, the oldest standing structure in Central Louisiana. Built in 1796 by Pierre Baillio II, this classic example of colonial construction gives visitors a glimpse of the Spanish, French, and American cultures that influenced the area. Spend time touring the house and wander the grounds for a look at the interesting outbuildings and sites, including a blacksmith shop, milk house, and cemetery. History buffs won't want to miss this attraction!

Alexandria Zoo

Take the family to the Alexandria Zoo for a wild adventure. From the majestic white tiger and big-eared fennec fox to the spooky smile of the American Crocodile, visitors of all ages will enjoy the opportunity to view over 500 animals in their natural habitats. River Oaks Art Center

Stop in River Oaks Art Center while strolling through the downtown Alexandria Cultural District. This is a contemporary visual arts and fine crafts center spanning multiple buildings, including the historic Bolton House. The Center has over 30 studios, several galleries, and a gift shop. They offer workshops as well as an onsite Arts Academy and play host to interesting events throughout the year. With over 20 exhibitions featured annually, make sure to keep an eye on their calendar during your next trip to Alexandria!
